Volume of New York City census records later used as a scrapbook by Philip Corell and Lucy Ackerman (1819-1820, 1883-1917). The original census volume belonged to Abraham Ackerman and was used from 1819 to 1820; only about a dozen pages of the New York City 5th Ward census remain entirely legible. Later his wife, Lucy, used it as a scrapbook from 1883 to the 1890s for general interest newspaper clippings. After Mrs. Ackerman's death, the book passed to Philip Corell who continued the scrapbook with clippings on New York City history, engravings of city buildings, and silver gelatin photographs. Includes clippings of two historical articles written by Corell.
